Two labourers from Bihar were killed while two persons including a woman were injured when an Army tipper hit them on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.


"Two persons were killed and two got injured when a tipper of Military and Engineering Services (MES) this morning first hit the cars parked along the roadside and then knocked the pedestrians," police here said.

Police said that one Yuvraj Singh, from Katyyar district in Bihar died on the spot while his colleague namely Manoj Kumar, also from the same district was rushed to the hospital but he later succumbed to his injuries.

Two injured were identified as Sushma Devi of Udhampur and Madan Lal of Ramnagar.

"The tipper driver has been taken into custody," police said and added that a case has been registered and investigations were underway.
