Ambassador of United States of America to India, Nancy Powell, today held discussion on a wide ranging issues like the ongoing general election, economy and industrial development during her meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan at state guest house in South Mumbai.


During the meeting, Ms Powell, who is retiring at the end of this month, said the bilateral relations between the two countries would remain unaffected as the new government comes to power at the Centre.

She also said that her country's cooperation with India would continue in the fields of economy, industry and education.

Mr Chavan expressed the view that American Universities should open their campuses in India for the benefit of local students.
