David Goyer will be writing the treatment for James Cameron's remake of the 1966 sci-fi classic 'Fantastic Voyage'.

The 48-year-old 'Man Of Steel' and 'Dark Knight' trilogy screenwriter will kick-start the project which has been quiet since 2011, Deadline.com reported.

Cameron, Jon Landau, and Rae Sanchini will be producing the project through their Lightstorm banner along with Goyer as executive their producer.

The 1966 classic, which starred Steven Welch, Raquel Welch and Donald Pleasance, followed a group of scientists who are shrunk to microscopic size inside a submarine and injected into the body of a diplomat who is nearly assassinated in order to save him.
