Air Marshal Arun Purushottam Garud, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command, today visited Air Force Station Chimney Hills here.

Air Marshal Garud, his wife Ms Sulochana Garud, President, Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional), were received by Group Captain Sunil Kumar Jha, Station Commander, Air Force Station Chimney Hills, according to a release here.

On arrival at the Air Force Station, the Air Marshal was presented with a 'Guard of Honour'.

The Air Marshal inspected the operational, maintenance & administrative activities at the station. He addressed all the personnel of the station exalting them to continue to abide by the credo and ethos of the IAF.

Ms Sulochana Garud reviewed the welfare activities of the Station and appreciated the welfare facilities provided to the personnel and their families. She also interacted with wives of Air Force personnel during the visit.

This is for the first time Air Marshal Garud visiting Bangalore after taking over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Air Command on January One-2014. Air Marshal Garud is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College and National Defence College.
