Delhi: Danish woman alleges gang-rape
A 51-year-old Danish woman alleged that she was raped and robbed by several men on Tuesday when she had sought their help in finding her way back to her hotel in Paharganj area, said reports.
The woman has left India Wednesday morning but after lodging a complaint in which she said she was robbed of her ipad, money in Euro currencies and also raped by the men in the heart of the national capital's Connaught Place area.
When she asked for some help in finding her address, she was accosted by the men who took her to a desolate place and allegedly raped her.
Police have taken into custody several people following the complaint.
The incident followed the sexual assault of a German woman in Chennai bound Mangalore Express.
Several cases of sexual assault on foreigners have been reported in the recent past.
Several foreign countries have issues advisories to their nationals, especially women, on taking all caution while in India after the spate of assaults and the brutal and fatal gangrape of the Delhi Braveheart in December 2012 in a bus, an incident that triggered nationwide outrage against rapes.
