Ford India today announced that it has posted 83 per cent increase in sales in April 2014, selling as many as 13,297 units in combined domestic wholesales and exports.


The car maker had recorded a total sales of 7,270 units in the corresponding month of last year.

''Despite on-going business challenges faced by Indian automotive industry, Ford India sales have held steady in April,'' Ford India Executive Director (Marketing, Sales and Service) Vinay Piparsania said in a release.

Domestic sales stood at 6,651 vehicles in April, up 66 per cent from 4,003 vehicles; while the company exported 6,646 vehicles, against 3,267 units in the corresponding period last year.
