Three policemen were arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while acceipting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant to favour him in a chapter case registered against him at Murbad police station in Thane Rural.


A chapter case was registered against the complainant at Murbad police station. To come out from the case, he had approached Police Hawaldar Vishwas Khot, Vasudev Balaram and Nandeshwar Dalvi (both constables). They had demanded Rs 25,000 to favour him, on bargaining, matter was settled at Rs 5,000, sources in ACB here today said.

Complainant agreed to pay the amount and simultaneously lodged a complainant with ACB. After the verification of the complaint, ACB sleuth laid a trap and arrested the trio yesterday while accepting bribe, sources added.
