Five accused in murder case have fled from the Kopargaon sub jail in Ahmednagar district, police station sources said.


The escape was discovered last night and police have been alerted in Ahmednagar to nab them. Special Inspector General Nashik Range Praveen Salunkhe also visited Kopargaon today to investigate the escape. Teams have been formed to nab the undertrials.

Deputy Superintendent (DySP) Vivek Patil confirmed the incident today.

The undertrials' names were given as Vinod Subhash Jadhav, Salim Khaja Shaikh, Abasaheb Babasaheb Londhe, Sagar Shivaji Kale and Vikas Popat Chavan. They have been booked under various offences of murder, dacoity and assault.
