Country's development derailed by 20 years under Cong rule: Gadkari
Former BJP president and senior party leader Nitin Gadkari today alleged that the Congress has derailed the country by 20 years in its decade-long stint at the Centre.
'Multi-crore scams in Commonwealth games, coal allocation and 2G spectrum scams have ruined the nation,' Mr Gadkari said while addressing an election meeting in favour of party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
The hefty scams have tarnished the image of the country and derailed development process by 20 years, he stated.
'Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have failed to control corruption and inflation in the country and should be shown the doors now,' the BJP leader commented.
He further alleged that nepotism was another major concern in Indian politics. 'Ms Gandhi is concerned about the political career of her son Rahul Gandhi while Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav is worried about his son Akhilesh Yadav,' he said.
Mr Gadkari charged the Congress and the SP with promoting terrorism.
He appealed to the people to support the BJP to ensure that Mr Narendra Modi becomes the next Prime Minister.
