Award for best hospitals under Eastern Command
Guwahati-based 151 Base Hospital (BH) was adjudged as the best zonal hospital amongst the five zonal hospitals in the eastern region and Dimapur-based 165 Military Hospital was adjudged as the best in mid-zonal group out of six hospitals, for second successive year according to a defense communiqu issed here today.
Giving impetus to the medical services in Eastern Command (EC), Lt Gen MMS Rai, GOC-in-C yesterday, gave away the Army Commander's trophy to the winners of best zonal and mid-zonal military hospitals for the year 2012-13, at Fort William, Kolkata.
Brig RS Sarkar, Commandant, 151 BH and Col SK Jana, Commanding Officer, 165 MH received the trophy, certificate and cash prize from the Eastern Army Commander.
The best hospital trophy was first introduced in the year 2001 to inculcate healthy competitiveness and progressive work culture amongst the service hospitals for continuous improvement in quality of patient care.
The trophy is awarded based on evaluation criteria like patient care facilities, innovations, amenities, utilization of funds, unit administration and clientele satisfaction among many other such parameters.
