Model code of conduct restrictions relaxed in Rajasthan
Since the polling and re-poll process in parliamentary constituencies of Rajasthan has been completed, the Election Commission(ECI) has relaxed partially the restrictions which were in force in the state under the model code of conduct.
Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) Ashok Jain said that now onwards normal administrative and development activities/process could be resumed.
However, Ministers and other political functionaries could not hold review meetings with officers connected with the election process.
Likewise, transfers and/or posting of officers connected with the election work/process would not be made, Jain said adding ECI observers and officers deputed/deployed on election work/duties would be given priority/preference in lodging in the Government Guest Houses/Circuit Houses etc.
The model code of conduct(MCC) came in force on March 5 with the announcement of the election schedule by the Commission.
The polling in 25 parliamentary constituencies in the state was held in two phases on April 17 and 24.
