State Forest Minister Patangrao Kadam said today that funds of Rs 112 crore and Rs 90 crore were available from the State Government for Tembhu and Tajari-Maishal water project respectively of this district and government would release water in Bhagyanagar tank in Khanapur Tehsil on May 20.

In a press conference, Mr Kadam, who is also the Guardian minister, said he ordered government officers to file up all the tanks by Tembhu scheme waters to face coming drought situation in drought hit areas.

This was the first press meeting after Lok Sabha election after the conditionally relaxation of modal code of conduct in the district.

Mr Kadam also ordered government officials to take department wise review meeting to speed up development works in the district in the wake of coming Assembly election.

Answering a question, Mr Kadam expressed confidence that the Congress candidates from Sangli and Pune would win the Lok sabha election.
