Campaign for phase-I elections in Telangana ends this evening
Campaign and other forms of publicity will end by 1600 hrs this evening in 119 Aseembly Constituencies and for 17 Lok Sabha seats in the first phase of elections to be held in Andhra Pradesh on April 30.
The Election Commissioner Yesterday notified all contesting political parties and candidates to refrain from all types of campaigning and publicity from 1600 hrs in the run up to the polling on the last day of the month.
The publicity includes telecast of advertisement in the electronic media and radio, road shows and campaigning.
National parties which campaign through the electronic media across the country should refrain from doing so.
The Election Commission's monitorning Committee will keep a strict vigil on this and appropriate action will be taken, according to Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal.
Phase-I of the election Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections in the state is being held in 10 districts Adilabad, Khammam, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizambad, Warangal, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad-in Telangana region.
