Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP)prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Sunday took a dig at Sonia Gandhi for seeking divine help to save herself.

"For the last two days Madame Sonia is seeking divine help to save herself. Now god cannot help save those who committed sins. Those who looted the country must be punished," Modi said here today.

Yesterday, the Congress president Sonia Gandhi had sought divine help for the people of India from the development model being propagated by BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday said the Gujarat model of development was not farmer or poor friendly, but industrialist friendly.

Modi stated that his opponent's only one aim was to stop him from coming to power.

"This election is not fought by any politician. It is the people who are fighting the election. Those who are in the opposition, they only think how to remove the government. They are conspiring to stop Modi. Why do they shake when Modi's name come infront of them? The entire Congress is uneasy about where they will stand after May 16. Have you seen ever that their prime minister or their ministers do not contest election?," Modi stated at a rally in Unnao.

Modi asked the people if the SP, BSP and the Congress rule has helped them or not."People are very angry on BSP,SP and the Congress. They wrestle here and in Delhi they are all together. They are ready to sacrifice people's interests. Has anything changed in the last ten years. Has it benefitted the farmers, and the youth?."

Modi asked: What is the government for? It should be for the poor and to bring changes in the lives of the people for good.

He asked what the Congress has done for all these years since independence.

"Should not there be tap water in your home and 24 hours electricity in your home, but the Congress party has not been able to do anything all these years," Modi added.

Modi attacked former foreign External Affairs Minister S M Krishna for his gaffe in United Nations when he inadvertently read out a part of Portuguese Minister's speech."There is external Affairs minister here Salman Khurshid, before him there was his predecessor who read the script from another country's leader at the United Nations. Will this increase the country's prestige." Modi added.

He concluded his speech by stating that people should not trust the false promises made by Congress as they do the same each time once elections are announced but do not fulfill their promises. He said that people should support BJP so that they can form a strong government at the center which can work for the benefit of the people.
