It will be do or die battle for lowly placed Churchill brothers against former Champions Salgaocar fc in their last round I- League championship football match to be played here at Tilak Ground Vasco da Gama tomorrow.


As both the teams are in need of victory, it will be close contest tomorrow. Salgacoar placed third with 39 points, one point behind second planced East Bengal with 40 points will go all out for win to decide the second spot. While Churchill presently in precarious position and placed second from bottom with 22 points too eying for full points to escape from relegation.

Churchill Brothers head Coach Marian Dias said, it is crucial match as it is a must win match for us to escape relegation. He said Churchill will be missing the services of the suspended Egyptian midfielder, AbdelHamid Shabana as well as defender Sanjay Balmuchu who is still nursing a quadricep injury picked up during the AFC Cup match against New Radiant Maldives. ' We are without a few key players for the Salgaocar match. However I have full faith in my team and our boys will go on the pitch tomorrow with the aim to get a victory out of the match'.

Salgoacar got the better of the Red Machines in the reverse fixture with a 1-0 victory.Churchill Brothers Goa were beaten 2-0 by a confident United Sports Club in their last I league match while Salgaocar played out an entertaining 3-3 draw against Sporting Clube De Goa.
