Storm forces emergency landing of choppers of Nitish and Ramvilas
Storm forced emergency landing of choppers of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and LJP president Ramvilas Paswan in Madhepura and Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituencies where they were engaged in hectic campaigning for their candidates in parliamentary elections today.
Official sources said that Mr Kumar, was on way to Madhepura after addressing a public meeting at Sonbarsa High School ground,in favour of JD(U) president Sharad Yadav who was contesting from Madhepura Lok Sabha seat but chopper of Mr Kumar could not land in Madhepura due to storm and it returned to Sonbarsa High School ground where emergency landing was facilitated.
Mr Kumar, later, left for Madhepura by road amid tight security arrangement as weather was not found conducive for the take off of his chopper even after waiting for few minutes. In similar incident, chopper of LJP president Ramvilas Paswan could not land at meeting venue at Raimyam in Keoti assembly segment of Madhubani Lok Sabha constituency.
Due to storm, emergency landing of the chopper was facilitiated the premises of Manighachhi block office.The meeting could not be held at Keoti at chopper could not land there.
Senior BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav was also accompanying Mr Paswan when emergency landing of their chopper was facilitated. Both had gone there to campaign for Hukumdeo Narain Yadav, BJP candidate and sitting MP from Madhubani Lok Sabha seat.
