Election observers J P Gupta and Renu Panth have asked officials to enhance vigil on distribution of money and liquor to entice voters in the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh.

At a high-level review meeting held here today, in which District Collector M Raghunandana Rao, Commissioner of Police B Srinivasulu, District Superintendent of police J Prabhakara Rao and Joint Collector J Murali participated, Gupta said that only ten days left for the elections in the region and asked the officials to intensify vigil and checking at check posts, as there a scope for money and liquor distribution.

He said the Election Commission has noticed that instances money and liquor distribution were high in the state. He asked officials to visit and inspect personally the strong rooms, distribution and counting centres.

Commissioner of Police Srinivasulu said the required police force had been kept ready for elections and in addition to that the police were using the services of 2,040 NCC personal.
