The Telegu Desam Party (TDP) today complained to State Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal against YSR Congress Party Chandragiri Assembly candidate who attacked TDP candidate conovy last night.
In a memorandum submitted to the CEO and copy of which was released to the media here, TDP Office Coordination Secretary, T D Janardhan said last night our contesting candidate from Chandragiri Assembly Ms Galla Aruna, a former Minister visited Somireddipalli village. At the time of entering the village itself she was obstructed by Chenna Kesava Reddy, a follower of Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, contesting MLA candidate from Chandragiri Assembly.
She lodged the same complained with the police and went to the village for campaigning. When she was returning from the village after campaigning, Chevireddy Bhasker Reddy initiated his followers to attack on Galla Aruna.
Accordingly, about 100 follwers of Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy attacked the convoy of Galla Aruna and pelted stones on her. She received injuries and several of her followers also badly injured. But the police did not take any action against Bhaskar Reddy followers. Ms Aruna along with her followers staged rasta roko on national highway. After some time police personnel came and promised her to take appropriate action against the culprits.
Hence, we request you to take appropriate penal action against Chevireedy Bhaskar Reddy and Chenna Kesava Reddy and their followers, Mr Janardhan said.
