New born disallowed to travel to Pakistan with parents
A 12-day old boy delivered by a Pakistani woman here during her visit to the district, was disallowed to travel to Pakistan-his nation along with mother by immigration authorities at Munabao, in the want of passport and visa.
The woman-Fatima of Ghotki-Pakistan, had arrived India by the Indo-Pak Thar Express train on February 22 to see her mother in Basanpir village in this district, along-with Mir Mohammad Lahar and two children, on a six-week visa and got extended the visa up to May 6.
Fatima was pregnant at the time of her journey to India and then on April 14 she had delivered a male child at a local hospital here, her relatives here said. ] The local Municipality also duly issued a birth certificate for the child birth.
However, when the couple on return journey reached Munabao by the Thar Express yesterday morning, the authorities at Immigrant check post refused to allow the new born to pass through to Khokhrapar in the want of passport and visa.
The couple returned to Jodhpur and now proceeded to Delhi to approach Pakistan High Commission their for issuance of the passport and visa.
