Police have arrested a 30-year-old man in connection with milk tanker murder case near Amirgadh Check post in Banaskantha today.

According the police, the man named Durbar, resident of Dabhela village near Amirgadh, had way laid two milk tankers of Mehsana Dudhsagar Dairy during wee hours today and demanded money for allowing a passage through the road. When the drivers of the vehicles refused to pay the money, he killed the driver Usmanbhai Sindhi and his father Abubhai Sindhi with sword.

The incident took place at about 1 am when accused intercepted the tankers by parking his Jeep across the road. He also attacked the driver of the second tanker and injured him seriously.

According to Banaskantha SP Ashok Kumar, the accused had hidden in hills near Bhakhri village after committing the crime. The police then received a tip off that about his hide out and arrested him after cordonning off the area.
