Kangra Sub Divisional authorities today withdrew the permission granted to Patanjali Yoga Samiti district Kangra for holding 'Yoga Diksha Mahotasav' in the local municipal ground of this temple town tomorrow at 1300hrs which was to be addressed by Swami Ram Dev of Patanjali Yoga Peeth Haridwar.

Kangra Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ajeet Bhardwaj said that the permission accorded to use the Municipal ground Kangra for organizing 'Yoga Diksha Mahotasav' tomorrow in favour of Rajnish Sharma District incharge Patanjali Yoga Samiti issued on April 16, 2014 was withdrawn keeping in view the media reports where in it was reported that the Yoga Shbirs organized by the said organization were being used for the political purposes.

He said that under letter no 464 /INST/EPS/2014 dated April 18, 2014 Election Commission of India has disallowed to grant permission to such organizations for holding such shibers.

Soon after the permission to hold the Yoga Diksha Mahotasav was withdrawn the Tehsildar Kangra Naresh Sharma reached the venue of the Shiber and asked the organizers to stop the erection of the tents and setting up of the pendal in the municipal ground. He was accompanied by the police to make the oragnizers to vacate the ground before it was locked by the Municipal authorities.

The Patanjali Yoga Samiti workers vacated the venue without any resistance. Swami Ram Dev is visiting Kangra tomorrow to hold 'Yoga Diksha Mahotasav' in the local municipal ground for which the permission was granted earlier and withdrawn today by SDM Kangra.

Rajnish Sharma district incharge patanjali Yoga Samiti claimed that Yoga Diksha Mahaotasav was being organized to create awareness among the people regarding contribution of Yoga in building up better health. He said that Swami Ram Dev was to speak on the national reconstruction in the country however, claimed that the program was a non political one. He said that said that 475 yoga teachers and 1250 activists of Patanjali Yog samiti had moved in different parts of Kangra and Chamba districts for inviting people to attend the program here tomorrow which was stalled by the authorities at the lost moment.

Meanwhile Laxmi Dutt Sharma Kendriya Prabahari of Patanjali Yoga Samiti and Bharat Suabimanand' when contacted and' and'told UNIand' that the decision of the authorities to withdraw the permission for holding the Shiber was 'most unfortunate and unwanted'. He said that the Patanjali Yoga Samiti approached the Deputy Commissioner Kangra C. Palrasu against the order of the SDM today and would also move Himachal Pradesh High Court in this context.

He said that Ram Dev would arrive at Gaggal airport tomorrow and address a newsconference at Matour near Kangra before he proceeds to Chamba via Chawari.
