Modi's victory imply Gujarat development: Sushma Swaraj
Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj today said Gujarat's development was implied in the victory of state Chief Minister and BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Addressing an election rally here this evening, Ms Swaraj said with the announcement of the name of Mr Modi as the party's prime ministerial candidate, an impromptu surge of support has been experienced across the country.
She said, 'for the comprehensive development of the country and preservation of democracy we need to strengthen the hands of Narendrabhai.'
While lashing out at Congress-led UPA Government at the centre, Ms Swaraj said "the inflation, corruption, atrocities against women have increased during the UPA rule. The people are fed up with the government and the corruption. "
While remembering BJP's sitting MP Rajendrasinh Rana, who is denied ticket this time after he reportedly felled out with Mr Modi, Ms Swaraj said, 'during last election in 2009, I had come here to issue an appeal to vote for him, this time I have come here to support my sister Bhartiben Shiyal.'
