Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi rhetoric on 'Maa-Beta' referring to dynastic rule of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi is indeed 'ironic' as Punjab is being governed by the entire Badal clan as BJP's coalition partner, AAP's Lok Sabha candidate Daljit Singh said today. Addressing meetings with Rotarians and others groups, he said, "It is indeed strange that Modi has been harping about strengthening the hands of Akalis under CM Parkash Singh Badal when the whole of Punjab has been 'looted' by them.

"In Punjab, the entire family of Badals rule the roost with father as CM, son as deputy CM, daughter-in law Harsimrat as MP, 'saala' of deputy CM- Bikram Majithia as MLA, and also son-in Law Adesh Partap Singh. The entire family has grabbed all the major segments of looting money from the public."

"The condition in Punjab was amply aired by Modi who said 'yahan badboo hai' (There is bad odour here). Of course there is 'stink' when the ruling Akali-BJP government has failed to provide even basic amenities to citizens in terms of sanitation, drainage, toilets, non existence of garbage management, unclean water.

"Then suddenly Modi, who has been calling himself as 'Desh ka chowkidaar' (nation's guard), was ready to become Amritsar's 'safai Karamchari' (sweeper) even as AAP party holds the broom as a symbol and is ready to sweep the corrupt from the state," Dr Singh said. Modi, who has been supporting the Akalis, should ask his partners if they have a single area in Amritsar constituency to uphold as a model area, that replicates what he (Modi) has done in Gujarat, the AAP candidate added.

"Sand and gravel are under them, yet road highway-development companies in union sponsored schemes have vanished as they are supplied the same at double costs. The liquor cartel is in their hands and each village is suffering as hundreds of vends have been opened in the entire rural belt.

"Transport business is under them with the state, still it has taken a back seat in majority of the routes while bus fares and petrol costs are highest in Punjab.

"They take kickbacks for making illegal colonies into legal, even for wedding functions. They also have huge stakes in media with entire cluster of PTC channels under them to propagate their lies besides in power, civil aviation, agriculture, hospitality business. What have they left for citizens to make an honest living?" Dr Singh said.
