Punjab former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today asked BJP candidate Arun Jaitley to explain as why did Akali-BJP government took a decision on imposing property tax in the state in 2013 when it was already imposed by him.

Capt Singh clarified that Mr Jaitley was only referring to the bureaucratic negotiations between the state government and the Union Urban Development Ministry.

Taking a dig at Mr Jaitley, for trying to buy property wherever he goes, he asked, 'if buying a house in Gujarat did not make him a Gujarati how come buying a house in Punjab make him a Punjabi?'

The Amrinder Congress candidate also released the copies of Mr Jaitely's opinion given to the US Company Dow Chemicals against the Bhopal Gas Tragedy victims.

He said Mr Jaitely had denied that he had given any such opinion but the copies show quite contrary to what he says. 'He is proving to be a habitual liar', Capt Singh remarked about Mr Jaitely.
