Ban Majithia from campaiging in Punjab: PYC demands
Condemning unholy act of Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia by distorting 'Gurbani', in his political speech in favour of BJP candidate Arun Jaitely in Amritsar, Punjab Youth Congress chief Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary today said the party would approach Election Commission to ban him from campaigning in the state.
In a press statement issued Mr Chaudhary also demanded action against Majithia from Sri Akal Takhat Saheb for his shameful and impious religious act.
"Majithia, who, is already accused for supporting drug mafia has stooped new low by not sparing even the Gurbani and all Sikhs of the state should punish him for such an act", he said. Majithia should immediately tender his apology to the Sikh community for distorting, undermining and tampering with the 'Gurbani' to seek votes for BJP Amritsar candidate Arun Jaitely, he said.
"We will lodge a formal complaint with Election Commission to demand ban Majithia from campaigning, as using the religion for political purpose is barred in the poll code of conduct", he added.
By doing so Majithia has clearly indulged in a blasphemous and a grossly anti-Guru, anti-Sikh and anti-'Panth' act, which is unpardonable.
He has in the presence of hundreds of people willfully and purposely broken the 'Maryada' and sanctity of the vital verses of Guru Gobind Singh ji, Mr Chaudhary said.
