DSGMC urges Akal Takht Jathedar to summon Amarinder Singh
The President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) Mr Manjit Singh G K today appealed to the Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib to summon former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh to the Takht and initiate action against him.
Mr G K has sent an appeal to the Takht after revelations were made that Capt Singh honoured army officer Gen R S Dyal who led the attack on Shri Akal Takht during operation bluestar of 1984 and had backstabbed the Sikhs.
Capt Singh, who is a Congress candidate from Amritsar constituency in the 16 Lok Sabha polls secheduled here on April 30, honoured Gen, Dyal during his tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab.
Reacting to a revelations made by Mr Karnail Singh Peermohamad of all India Sikh Students Federation, Mr G K termed the former chief minister as a traitor and one who is mixed up with enemies of the Sikh Panth.
Mr G K said that Capt Singh had completely failed in striking balance on morality, religion and politics and has been shedding 'crocodile tears' on the issue of operation bluestar at a time that suits him.
Capt Singh had earlier given clean chit to Jagdish Tytler who had charged mobs which mercilessly killed thousands of innocent Sikhs in 1984 genocide in the national capital New Delhi, pointed Mr G K adding that a double standard and hypocratic nature of Capt Singh who on the one side has resigned from Congress party after Operation Bluestar and later honoured one who led the operation.
