Cong demands dismissal of Majithia from state cabinet for distorting Gurbani
PPCC today asked Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to immediately expel Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia from the cabinet for distorting, denigrating and tempering with Gurbani to eulogise senior BJP leader and SAD-BJP candidate Arun Jaitley contesting election from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat.
PPCC spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira alleged at a media conference that during a poll related meeting in Udham Singh hall at Amritsar yesterday, Majithia pressurized the gathering to recite the popular 'Deh Shiva Var Mohe' Shabad written bythe Tenth Guru Dashmesh Pita Guru Gobind Singh Ji but with a change in the last to ensure the victory of Arun Jaitely.
The Shabad in the Gurbani as recited is ' Deh Shiva Var Mohe, Shubh Karman Te naa Tarron, Naa Tarron, Jab Jaye Ladan ko, Nishche Apni Jeet Karon' where as Majithis asked the gathering to repeat but he recited as 'Nishche Arun Jaitely ki jeet karon'.
Later the congressmen in hundreds led by Khiara burnt the effigy of Majithia also at the Press Club chowk shouting slogans against Majithia.
Khaira said the PPCC would not complain the sacrilegious act of Majithia to the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Saheb but rather to wait that the Jathedar and Badals suo moto notice of the impious act of Majithia or not. He said had Badals some respect for the Shabads of great Gurus, Majithia would not only be dismissed from the cabinet but also expelled from the primary membership of the SAD.
Khiara said that Majithia had hurt the religious sentiments of not only the Sikhs but also the other communities who have faith in the Gurbani and are inspired by the Shabads written by great Gurus and other religious leaders.
He said Majithia should be lashed publically with hunters for his unpardonable folly.
