An average 80 per cent voters today exercised their votes in the repolling held at nine booths spread over four Assembly segments in three districts of Odisha.

CEO office sources here today said the Dantia booth in Ghasipura Assembly segment under Keonjhar Lok Sabha seat recorded the highest 88 per cent turn out of voters, followed by 87 per cent in the Baghamunda booth under Telkoi Assembly segment of the same Keonjhar Parliamentary constituency.

About 74 per cent voters cast their ballots at the Jenabhai booth in Aul Assembly constituency under the Kendrapada Lok Sabha seat.

Repolling was also held in six booths under Niali Assembly seat under Jagatsinghpur Lok Sabha constituency, where more than 70 per cent voters cast their ballots in three booths and over 80 per cent exercised their franchise in the rest three booths.

Repolling was ordered by the Election Commission (EC) as these booths reported rigging and damage of EVM machines during the second and final phase of polling to 11 Lok Sabha and 77 Assembly seats in Odisha.

The CEO office sources said the repolling was held in a peaceful note and no untoward incident was reported from anywhere.

The authority has made elaborate security arrangement for smooth conduct of the repolling in nine booths, sources added.
