Internationally-renowned city-based dance-gurukul Mahatma Gandhi Mission Sangeet Academy (MAHAGAMI) has organised a series of dance programmes to mark World Dance day from April 26 to 30.


Addressing a news conference here today, Parvati Dutta, director of MAHAGAMI, said since UNESCO has declared April 29 as World Dance Day, MAHAGAMI, a member of International Dance Council of UNESCO, will organise events showcasing Indian Classical Dance performances by foreign dancers. Among them are Artur Przybylski (Poland) - Kathak, Jin Shan Shan (China) - Bharatnatyam,Vinod Kevin (West Indies) - Odissi, Munmun Ahmed (Bangladesh) -Kathak and Silvia Vona (Italy) - Odissi.

Ms Dutta, will herself present an interactive performance along with her disciples on 'Vision of Indian Dance & Newer Discoveries Within Tradition', she added.
