The police today arrested three members of a inter-state smuggling gang here and recovered over 11 tones sandalwood from them.

A police official said they got an information about the truck carrying sandalwood.

The police seized the truck at a petrol pump near Jethipura village about 15 km from Gandhinagar and arrested three people from Tamil Nadu.

A total of 11,195 kg sandalwood worth Rs 1.34 crore was recovered.

The police official said during interrogation, the arrested revealed that sandalwood was sent by one Krishna Reddy of Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa. The official said the truck was going to Delhi.

The three arrested have been identified as Amir Ali and SK Pal Pandian, both the residents of Chennai and Srinivasan of Viluppuram, Tamil Nadu.
