Michael Fassbender says '12 Years a Slave' role petrified him
Michael Fassbender, who plays the role of 'Mr. Epps'- a brutal plantation owner and slave master in '12 Years a Slave', admitted that it was by far the most shocking and petrifying characters he has come across.
According to PVR pictures, Fassbender also revealed he had difficulty getting in and out of the character during the filming of the historical drama.
Talking about his role, the actor confessed, he has come across unpredictable characters before, but none as terrifying as Epps.
He said it was gruelling to find the inner workings of a human being in the character of Epps.
Set in the nineteenth century, the movie is the real life story of Solomon Northup, a free man who is kidnapped and sold into slavery. Facing cruelty at the hands of a brutal slave owner as well as unexpected kindness, Solomon faces a daily struggle for his life and dignity.
The film, which has bagged the Golden Globe for Best Picture Drama and also earned nine Oscar nominations, is set to release in Indian theatres on January 31, 2014.
