The BJP Rajasthan unit today accused the rival Congress state unit and its president Sachin Pilot of of buying fake 'likes' for the party's official Facebook page to gain popularity on the social media platform. Minister of State for Social Empowerment and former BJP state president Arun Chaturvedi said here this afternoon 'likes' on the Facebook page of Rajasthan Congress Committee, shot up to over 80,000 within 19 days and most of the 'likes' were from Istanbul in Turkey which indicates that this is all fake.

'The page had 3,965 'likes' from March 10 to March 16 which went up to 80,303 from April 7 to April 13. Presently, the page is getting 10,000 'likes' per day', Mr Chaturvedi told reporters adding the page's 'most popular city' feature showed that most of the followers were from Istanbul in Turkey.

He said this sudden rise and the trend indicates that these are fake 'likes' and purchased from Istanbul.

'This is to mislead people and BJP would complaint to the Election Commission about it', he said.
