Raj Babbar campaigns for Azad, terms him icon of development
Bollywood actor and Congress MP Raj Babbar today campaigned for Union Minister and Congress Candidate from Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary constituency Ghulam Nabi Azad in Kathua district and termed him as icon of development.
''Mr Azad is an Icon of Development. He is a man of development. His politics starts with development and end with development,'' Mr Babbar said while addressing a gathering during a road show in Kathua here this afternoon. He said that Mr Azad is a man who always aroused above the party politics and led the pace of the development to all nook and corner of the country. As Union Health Minister he ensured establishment of 55,000 hospitals throughout the country, he said.
Taking a dig at saffron brigade Mr Babbar said, ''unlike BJP which is fighting elections on rhetoric of Modi, Congress is contesting elections on historical back ground in freedom struggle, its tireless and continues efforts to develop infrastructure in the country which have benefited the people of the country.''
Meanwhile Mr Azad said that he is contesting election with a vision and specific agenda to serve the people of this backward region. ''Being native of this place I am aware of the problems being faced by the inhabitants of this region so I have prepared a blue-print for the growth and betterment of this region,'' he added.
''I have a vision and roadmap for this belt,'' Mr Azad said and sought over-whelming support of the people to implement developmental agenda in this belt.
