The Punjab State Committee of CPI(M) released a set of nine Booklets in Punjabi based on various issues and subjects elaborated in the Party Manifesto.

Com Charan Singh Virdi, State Secretary, CPI(M), Punjab released the booklets along with , Com. Ranbir Singh Virk, State Secretariat Member, CPI(M) and Com. Inderjit singh, Central Committee Member and State Secretary, CPI(M), Haryana.

The booklets are on the subjects viz Two India Reality, To Build A Corruption Free India, Against the Caste System for Equity and Dignity for Dalits, In Defence of Womens' Rights, For An Alternative Food Security and Price Control Policy, No To the Gujarat Model, Defeat BJP, Defend Secularism, Agriculture Crisis and In Defence Of Peasants and Agricultural Workers, Education and Health Services .

While releasing the Booklets, Com. Virdi said that the party is campaigning in Punjab for the 16th Sabha elections on basis of these booklets unlike Congress and Akali-BJP combine who are indulging in personal accusations to divert the public attention from the real issues.

He further stated that there is a very good response from the people on our pro-people approach to the various burning issues of the people. Com Virdi strongly criticized the anti people politics and policies of both the Congress and Akali-BJP combine.

He accused these parties of sheer opportunism and misleading the people on the vital issues like price rise, unemployment, commercialisation of education and health services, drug addiction, deepening agriculture crisis as a result of neo- liberal policies being pursued by these parties were responsible for the present crisis confronting the nation.

Haryana while speaking on the occasion said that the Left parties will strive to form a secular government after the elections which will open up the possibility of implementing alternative policies in favour of toiling people and deprived sections of the nation.
