Leader of the Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council, Vinod Tawde, today made a frontal attack on Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for his comment against BJP's prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi that 'the Gujarat model of development is a toffee model'.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of releasing the manifesto of party candidate Anil Shirole, he remarked that Congress needed the 'Wadra model' of development, while referring to Rahul's brother-in-law Robert Vadera.

Elaborating further, he said the Gujarat model of development has shown to the whole country what Mr Modi has done is a good example of good governance which, he pointed out, was also implemented in other BJP-ruled states.

Observing that people of the country are fed up with Congress and UPA and now they want a change, Mr Tawde claimed that the Mahayuti (grand alliance) would gain up to 36 seats in Maharashtra.

He apealed to the people to give a chance to BJP, which will change the entire system in 60 months only, he claimed.

While talking about the manifesto, the BJP leader said Mr Shirole and his party would try to solve the problems affecting Pune and added that it is the dream project of Mr Modi to change Pune into the a city.
