SFK joins Pune road safety initiatives

Pune, Jan 24 : Extending its support to road safety initiatives - global supplier of bearings, seals, mechatronics, lubrication systems and services SKF India on Friday announced the sponsoring of 125 safety barricades to the Pune city traffic police.
At an event at the SKF Pune factory premises, Shishir Joshipura, Managing Director and Country Head, SKF India handed over safety barricades to Vishwas Pandhare, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pune city traffic police.
Joshipura said, "Our guiding principle of SKF Care includes community care. SKF will continue to contribute towards making a meaningful difference to the communities we operate in and hence we extend our support to this endeavor of Pune city traffic police."
Pandhare said, "When on road, always say Pehle Aap (you first) which was also the theme for this year's road safety fortnight."
The DCP added, "Road safety is of paramount importance and it is vital to take adequate measures to avoid mishaps. Placing safety barricades is a small step in the right direction and we are pleased to have SKF support us, in ensuring a safer environment for the people of Pune."
SKF India extended its support to this safety initiative by Pune traffic police to help them in increasing awareness about road safety and ensuring reduced road accidents in the future.
To promote and create awareness about road safety and traffic rules, Pune city traffic police had scheduled a 'Road Safety Week' from Jan 3 to Jan 17.
