The five club triathalon saw some of Mumbai's best known sporting clubs slug it out in a friendly competition. Wellingdon, Malabar Hill Club, NSCI, Radio Club and CCI battled for sporting honours for the trophy that was finally lifted by the host club CCI with Radio Club coming in a close second.

Speaking at the occasion, Leander Paes who has just been awarded a Padma Bhushan, said, "It's great to see the spirit of camaraderie and goodwill that permeates the event. From 8 year olds to 80 year olds, everyone is out there to cheer for their club making fitness fun." Said CCI Swimming Secretary, Hemal Thanawala, "The Spirit of CCI celebrates fitness through sport at every age, and who sets the example better than Leander Paes, who became the only Indian to complete a career slam. Thanawala thanked Leander saying he was truly an inspiration.

Also joining him to flag off our event was Arjuna Awardee and Olympian swimmer Rehan Poncha.

Poncha said on the occasion, "I've recently started doing swim clinics for competitive swimmers and have had the opportunity to work with the teams of three out of the five clubs present here today. It's great to see all the athletes who swim at state and national levels out here to represent their clubs along with those who run and swim and cycle for fitness. It's a great mix and there is great spirit and atmosphere."
