Popular Punjabi singer and actor Gurdas Mann today urged the youth to use their right of franchise to strengthening democratic process of India.


He said the elections had provided them a chance to prove their metal in the real times to show the strength of youth. He asked them not to miss the chance of voting in electing a government through democratic process.

He was in the city in connection with the release of music of his upcoming Punjabi film 'Dil Vil Pyaar Vaar'. Interacting with the media he complimented a boost in the Punjabi film industry and said the the industry will saturate one day to compete with the Bollywood.

Referring to indecency in the Punjabi films, Punjabi songs and dialogues causing a great setback to Punjabi Culture, he said every Punjabi needs to protect the sanctity of the Punjabi and its rich heritage rather than to let it at the mercy of some vested interests. He said pen is mightier than sword and the pen is in the hands of the media to teach a lesson to the absurds.

He said promoting Punjabi is his passion and promoting Punjabi music is his hobby. Manjit Mann, who directed the film, said the movie costs around Rs five crore and hoped that it will prove to be the best social film scripted on a family theme.

The film has five songs sung by Gurdas Mann of the total eight songs which made the family drama, a versatile movie of the entertainment world in Punjabi.
