Candidate in Thane campaigns on foot to connect with tribals
A candidate in this district has resorted to campaign on foot for the Lok Sabha elections, to connect with the tribals in the area.
Chintaman Vanga, of the BJP-Sena Combine is electioneering without any vehicle in the district.
Neither the voters here are educated nor nor do they expect anyone to come to their doors in cars and jeeps.
But the fact remains that they are the people in thousands, who will decide the fate of the candidates, presently burning midnight oil to make it to the 16th Lok Sabha.
Vanga, who is the MLA representing the Vikramgadh segment of the Assembly in the state has been the MP from the erstwhile Dahanu Lok Sabha segment on two earlier occasions.
As he puts it, he has contested the Lok Sabha elections at least nine times and is well conversant with the entire region.
He treks several kms across hillocks and valleys to reach the voters and request them to vote for him to complete the incomplete works he had undertaken in his last term.
