Ten schools in the country have qualified for the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup Inter-State challenge for the under-16 category to be held in city between April 14-20.

The opening game would be played between Mumbai champions Al Barkat Malik MI Engish School and DAV Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh at the P J Hindu Gymkhana Ground here, it was announced at a news conference today.

An announcement to this effect was made by Dilip Jayram, chief executive officer of Procam International, along with Shrikant Tigdi, MCA and P N Sankaran of Procam International.

Altogether 820 schools had participated in the preliminary round, out of which 10 have qualified for the Inter-State challenge.

Sponsored by Coca-Cola, the Inter-State challenge has been organised by Procam International along with Mumbai Cricket Association.

The champion school would win Rs 1 lakh in prize money, while the runner-up would get Rs 70,000.

Twenty-four best players will get an opportunity to be trained by Australian coach Anthony Adams at the Cricket India Academy (CIA).

'We are thrilled to have come up to the concluding and challenging Inter-State Under-16 league and wish all the teams the very best,' Sankaran added.
