The 80-year-old Monroe College of New York (US) has invited Indian students to seek admission in the college to pursue their higher education 'as it is best suited to them because of low fees.'

The college has been named as he most affordable private college in New York by US news and World Report with a tuition that is about 50 per cent less than the average private college in the US,Mr.Alex Ephrem, senior vice President of the college, told newspersons here today.

He said to encourage and motivate Indian students with merit scores,the college offers upto 10,000 dollars scholarship for those who top academic qualifications and grade.

Claimed that the tuition fee was quite low relative to all other MBA programmes offered by other colleges in New York city,he said that over the years,Monroe has graduated thousands of international students.

He said based on the premise that higher education was an investment,Monroe College offers tuition fee affordable to Indian students keeping their family incomes in mind.

Addressing a separate press conference. Ms Katja Friedl,

International sales director of ISL,Sprachscule,Germany,said learning Germany was crucial if a student wanted to pursue studies in German which has become a hub of quality scientific research and innovation.

Many Indian students were eagerly looking forward to their studies in Germany but they always had the language problem. Keeping this in view,the ISL each year helped about 250 Indian students to gain German language abilities.

Nearly 6,000 Indian students study in Germany now as Germany besides being a hub of quality scientific studies was also keen on attracting bright Indian minds for further studies and research.

Another incentive for Indian students was that German universities did not charge any fees,Ms.Friedl added.

The ISl has started its Indian office recently for the benefit of Indian students.
