Capt's statement of finance emergency Immature and thoughtless: Majith
Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia also today attacked former Chief Minister and Congress candidate for Amritsar Lok Sabha seat Captain Amarinder Singh for making statement on finance emergency in the state.
He said the statement is immature and thoughtless and shows that Captain has no understanding of financial matters.
Th minister asked the Captain to recall; the days when he was the CM of the state and the government exchequer was emptied by him, leading to a number of financial challenges.
Mr Majithia said the SAD-BJP government has initiated various public welfare schemes, including Atta-Dal, Shagan Scheme, free power to farmers, cycles and stipends for students.
"Captain can not see these welfare schemes being initiated and is making misleading statements", he added.
He said there was a wave of development in the state and this will further an impetus after the NDA government replaces the present corrupt and scandalous UPA government.
Captain has always worked against the interests of the state and never cared that the UPA initiated no measures for development during its rule in the last 10 years, he alleged.
He said UPA Ministers were neck deep in corruption and unemployment, poverty and lack of governance was the only achievement of the Congress government in Centre.
Congress leaders were good in looting the public money and nothing else, he added.
Th minister e said the industrial packages were given to neighbouring states which led to the flight of industries from Punjab, affecting the state's economy but Captain never raised his voice for this.
Mr Majithia said the way Congress supporters were joining Shiromani Akali Dal (B), it seems Captain would be left with nothing, but a bunch of outsider supporters to go with him when the results of the Lok Sabha elections would be declared.
He asked the people to support SAD-BJP candidate and senior BJP national leader Arun Jaitley in the elections and rout the Congress, which will be restricted to the double digit number in Parliament.
Meanwhile, the exodus of Congress leaders and workers continue in Majitjia constituency as more than 70 Congress families today joined the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) at Majitha and village Abdal.
They all were welcomed into the Akali Dal by Mr Majithia, who said Congress is a sinking ship and their workers, who are being ill-treated, are leaving the party in hoards.
He said in the coming days, more Congressmen will be joining them.
