Senior BJP leader and SAD-BJP alliance candidate Arun Jaitley appealed to the voter that they must check the character and background record of candidate before voting.

People should ensure that the candidate seeking votes from this Guru ki Nagri must imbibe the character of this holy city, the BJP leader said while addressing the public from Bohru and Manawala areas. He highlighted the arrogance of Congress candidate and their repeated defeats in the elections because of their arrogance.

He cited the example of King Ravna and his growing arrogance of power despite wise advice from Vibhishan eventually leading to the fall of arrogant Ravan by Lord Rama.

So the egotism of Modern day Raja can face his nemesis from the hands of people in Amritsar.

Mr Jaitley said the top leadership of Captain's party including Sonia and Rahul Gandhi as well as Dr Manmohan Singh has lost their voice.

"Peoples are not ready to listen to them. There is growing anger against Congress in the country and I believe that Congress may end up getting less than 50 seats and will reap the result of cheating and stabbing the public of their country," he said.

The state will go to polls on April 30.
