Delhi metro services on Line-2 (Jahangirpuri to HUDA City Centre) were affected for around 30 minutes as some metro commuters deboarded a metro train this afternoon between Ghitorni and Arjangarh stations of Line-2 (Jahangirpuri to HUDA City Centre) as a result of panic due to minor spark in the metro coach, a DMRC spokesperson said.


''This is to inform that some passengers deboarded a Metro train at 1304 hrs today between Ghitorni and Arjangarh stations of Line-2 (Jahangirpuri to HUDA City Centre),'' the spokesperson said.

''There was some panic as a result of which the Metro train driver applied Emergency Brakes. However, on checking,it was confirmed that no fire had taken place,'' the spokesperson said.

''The train has been withdrawn from service for checking. Prima facie, as per reports received, some sparking/flashing had taken place in the rear car which caused little panic among passengers,'' the spokesperson said.

''There was no unsafe situation at any stage,'' the spokesperson said.

''As a precaution and safety measure, train movement was immediately sopped in this section,'' the spokesperson said.

''Normalcy on Line-2 has been restored at 1335 hrs,'' the spokesperson added.
