Shopworkers to get paid holiday on Gujarat polling day
All shops and business establishments will have to give a paid holiday to their workers/ employees on April 30 on account of elections.
A state Labour Commission release here today said that the shop owners and business establishments registered under the Gujarat Shops and Establishment Act, 1948, will have to give paid holiday to their workers/employees so that they are able to exercise their franchise in the elections for Lok Sabha and bypolls for seven Assembly constituencies, going to polls on April 30.
Action will be taken against any shop owner found acting against the provision of above said Act, the relase added.
