Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) on Thursday announced the acquisition of 15 million customers in its 13th year of operation in India.

According to the officials, the latest 5 million customers were added in just 18 months after the declaration of 10 million customers in July, 2012.

This extraordinary pace is an outcome of Honda foray in the mass motorcycle segment- Dream Yuga and Dream Neo being well accepted in the market, the officials noted.

HMSI came into existence on Dec 14, 1999 and its first production facility at Manesar commenced operations in 2001.

Currently it operates three manufacturing facilities at Manesar (Haryana) and Tapukara (Rajasthan) and Narsapura (Dist. Kolar, Karnataka) with the cumulative production capacity to reach 46 lakh units annually by FYEuro14 end.
