As many as 280 candidates remain in the fray for Lok Sabha polls in Punjab after the scrutiny of nominations today.


Additional CEO Surpreet Singh Gulati said that Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat has 26 candidates whereas Patiala 21, Sangrur 23, Faridkot 23, Ferozepur 17, Ludhiana 23, Amritsar 24, Khadoor Sahib 22, Anandpur Sahib 18, Bathinda 32, Fathegarh Sahib 16, Hoshiarpur 19 and Gurdaspur 16.

He informed that nomination papers of prominent candidates including Captain Amarinder Singh (Congress), Arun Jaitley (BJP), Dr Daljeet Singh (AAP) from Amritsar, Pawan Kumar Tinu (SAD), Santokh Singh Chaudhary (Congress), Sukhwinder Singh (BSP) and Jyoti Mann (AAP) from Jalandhar, Preneet Kaur (Congress), Deepinder Singh Dhillon (SAD), Dr Dharam Vir (AAP) from Patiala, Vijay Inder Singla (Congress) and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa (SAD) were found in order.
