All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) today slammed Narendra Modi for his attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, saying he was 'advertising' himself as a prime ministerial candidate, but the people would not allow such a 'nightmare'.

"Modi is advertising himself as PM candidate. Wishful thinking. PM is decided by party with 273 MPs. Not by multi-million ads/superpaid news," AITC National spokesman and Rajya Sabha Chief Whip Derek O' Brien told the media.

"Modi had blood on his hands after the riots where innocents were killed," he added.

"He can dream of becoming the PM, but India will not allow this nightmare," Mr O' Brien said.

" India does not need to copy Modi's Gujarat model. Other states have better models, including Bengal. Look at the facts and not the hype," he said.
