US Air Force researchers testing Google Glass for potential uses on battlefield
The research team within the US Air Force is reportedly testing Google Glass for its potential uses on the battlefield.
The Battlefield Air Targeting Man-Aided Knowledge research team, or BATMAN, specializes in beta-testing emerging technologies.
While Google Glass could be used to access information quickly during missions and facilitate communication between pilots and air craft controllers, a BATMAN software developer said that it's not a silver bullet for many of the Air Force's needs, the Verge reported.
The initiative is an effort on the part of the Air Force to transition from using laptops to more portable computers.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the US Navy is building its own version of Glass.
