BJP chief roots for party PM pick Modi
BJP national president Rajnath Singh today appealed to the people to vote in favour of BJP candidates in their Lok Sabha constituencies so that NDA, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, could form the government at the centre.
Addressing an election rally for party nominee Dr Sunil Gaikwad at Nilanga town in Latur district of Marathwada region about 350 km from here, Mr Singh said, 'Mr Modi has undertaken lots of development works in Gujarat during his rule in past 12 years, and this has been noted as a role model by all the countries around the world.'
Talking about the farmers, he said, 'If BJP comes to power at the centre, we will extend all possible help to farmers in the country, including crop insurance benefit whenever natural calamity like situation arises.'
He asked the people whether farmers affected by the recent hailstorm in Latur had received relief from the Maharashtra government, and alleged that Union Agriculture Minister, without naming NCP chief Sharad Pawar, who also belongs to Maharashtra, had done nothing for the state's farmers.
Claming to be the son of a farmer, Mr Singh said that all the BJP-ruled states in the country at present provide loans at zero percent interest to farmers.
He claimed that Dr Gaikwad, who is contesting from Latur (SC) constituency, will win this election by a margin of three lakh votes in view of public presence at the rally.
Besides Dr Gaikwad, MLA Sudhakkar Bhalerao, Sambhji Nilangekar,Govind Kendre and other party office-bearers were also present on the dais.
